Case History
Alan Edwards (pseudonym) is a 67 year old carpenter from Devon with high blood pressure.
He was going to throw away the offer of screening as he felt fit and well at the time, but luckily he didn’t because he turned out to have a 68mm complex abdominal aortic aneurysm. This was repaired by Mr. David Snyders at North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple in December 2004 and he made an excellent, uncomplicated recovery.
He has since gone back to work, albeit only two days a week. To quote Mr. Edwards:
“That was the best few quid I ever spent.”
